Lanette, Summer Camp Meal Prep Team

Lanette, also known as “Pearl” is one of our dedicated Summer Meal Cooks for our safe space summer camp for youth! She’s been working with NECA for ten years, starting as a CEDA Support Specialist and then moving onto the kitchen team over time so that she could work more closely with youth populations. She says. “My passion is children and if the summer programs can save a few youth, I’m glad because I lost two of my young children--both boys--at ages 16 and 19. So now I am a part of the village that’s trying to raise OUR kids. All of these kids are all of ours.”
